Hey fellow gamers! I’ve been thinking about the horror game scene from 2010 to 2015 lately. It seems like that period had some real gems. What are your opinions on the horror games that came out during those years? Any favorites that stand out? I remember playing a few that really got under my skin, but I’m curious to hear what others think. Did you feel like the genre was evolving during that time, or were there any trends you noticed? Let’s chat about the scares, the atmosphere, and the impact these games had on the horror genre as a whole!
Man, 2010-2015 was a wild time for horror games. Amnesia: The Dark Descent dropped in 2010 and changed everything. Outlast in 2013 was another game changer. And who could forget P.T. in 2014? That demo alone was scarier than most full games. I feel like developers were really pushing boundaries with psychological horror and first-person gameplay during those years. Some games from that era still give me chills thinking about them.
Alien: Isolation was intense! That era had some real gems. Silent Hill: Downpour and The Evil Within were pretty solid too. I think developers were experimenting more with psychological horror and different gameplay mechanics. Made for some unique experiences.
Alien: Isolation from 2014 was a standout.
Perfectly captured the movie’s atmosphere.
Xenomorph AI was terrifying. Made you feel hunted the whole time.
Man, can’t forget Five Nights at Freddy’s from 2014.
Those jump scares got me good.
Totally different approach to horror back then.
Ah, that era had some killer horror games. Amnesia and Outlast were game-changers for sure. But for me, Alien: Isolation takes the cake. The atmosphere was spot-on and that Xenomorph AI… man, it kept me on edge the whole time. Really felt like the genre was pushing new boundaries back then.
