Hey folks, I’ve been thinking about life sim games lately. It seems like all the new ones are all about making everything look super pretty and letting you customize every little thing. But what if we had a game that was more about the actual living part?
I’m talking about a game that’s really detailed in how life works, kind of like Rimworld or Kenshi. Instead of worrying about making your character look perfect, it would be more about dealing with everyday stuff and figuring out how to get by.
Don’t get me wrong, I like being able to make things look nice too. But sometimes I feel like games are so focused on letting you change everything that they forget to make the actual gameplay interesting.
What do you guys think? Would you be into a life sim that cares more about how life actually works than how it looks? Or do you prefer being able to control and customize everything?
That sounds pretty interesting actually. I’d give it a shot if the systems were deep enough. Kinda reminds me of Dwarf Fortress in a way. Could be cool to see that level of detail in a modern life sim. As long as it’s not too overwhelming to learn, I think it could work.
Absolutely. I’m all for a life sim that digs deep into the mechanics of daily living. Graphics are cool, but give me complex systems to navigate any day. Imagine managing your character’s health, career, relationships, and finances in super granular detail. That’d be way more engaging than just decorating a house or picking outfits. A game like that could be seriously addictive if done right. I’d love to see developers take more risks with gameplay depth in life sims.
