Why I think Oblivion's dungeons are better than Skyrim's

OK, so I’ve been playing a ton of Oblivion and Skyrim lately, and I gotta say, I’m really digging Oblivion’s dungeons more. Here’s why:

  1. They feel more real and random. Like, you’re actually stumbling on some ancient ruins, not just following a pre-made story.

  2. The Ayleid ruins are huge and maze-like. It’s easy to get lost, which makes it more exciting and immersive.

  3. Caves and forts are massive too. You can spend hours exploring and fighting tons of enemies.

  4. There’s less hand-holding. You’re not always being guided somewhere specific.

Don’t get me wrong, Skyrim’s dungeons are cool too. They’ve got more variety and puzzles. But sometimes they feel a bit… I dunno, theme park-ish? Like they were made just to entertain me.

Oblivion’s dungeons are grittier and more challenging. They really pull me into the world. Anyone else feel this way? Or am I crazy for preferring the older game’s dungeons?

I get where you’re coming from. Oblivion’s dungeons do have that raw, unpolished feel that makes them seem more authentic. But I kinda prefer Skyrim’s approach. The variety keeps things fresh, and I like how each dungeon tells its own little story. Plus, the puzzles add some nice brain teasers to break up the combat. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Oblivion’s dungeons are pretty epic. Love how they make you feel like a real explorer.

Skyrim’s are cool too though. The Nord ruins have awesome atmosphere.

Both games nail that dungeon-crawling itch in their own ways.

Totally get that. Oblivion’s dungeons have that old-school RPG vibe. Skyrim’s are more streamlined, but I kinda dig that too. Sometimes I just wanna dive in and explore without getting lost for hours. Both games nail the dungeon crawling in their own ways.
