Which video games create a sense of awe through their massive scale?

I’m looking for games that make you feel super small and unimportant in a huge world. I just finished Shadow of the Colossus and it blew my mind! The colossi were so massive and the scenery was breathtaking. It wasn’t the most exciting gameplay but the sense of scale was incredible.

I’ve also enjoyed Destiny for similar reasons. There’s something about the vast landscapes and towering structures that really draws me in. I’m not sure if it’s clever camera work or just the sheer size of everything, but it’s so immersive.

What other games give you that feeling of being tiny in a massive, awe-inspiring world? I love when a game makes me stop and go “Wow!” at how grand everything is. Any recommendations for my next play?

Man, if you want to feel tiny, you gotta try No Man’s Sky. That game’s universe is mind-blowingly huge. Like, billions of planets huge. I’ve spent hours just flying around, landing on random worlds, and still feel like I’ve seen nothing.

Subnautica’s another good one. The ocean is deep and dark, and you really feel small swimming around those alien structures. Plus, it’s got that creepy factor that keeps you on edge.

Elden Ring might scratch that itch for you. Massive open world with towering structures everywhere. You’ll feel tiny exploring the Lands Between. Plus the combat’s pretty sweet.
