Hey everyone! I’m looking for some new strategy or simulation games to try out. I really love games that are easy to pick up but have a lot of depth to them. You know, the kind where you can spend hours mastering all the little details.
I’ve played a bunch of popular ones like the Total War series, Civilization, Crusader Kings, and even RollerCoaster Tycoon. They’re all great, but I’m wondering what else is out there.
What are some of your top picks for strategy or sim games? I’m especially interested in ones that are challenging but not too overwhelming for newcomers. Any hidden gems or recent releases I should check out?
Let me know your favorites and why you like them. I’m excited to hear your suggestions!
Factorio is my jam. It starts simple but gets crazy complex. You build a factory and automate everything. Before you know it, hours have gone by and you’re still optimizing your production lines. Totally addictive.
Stellaris is my top pick for strategy games right now. It’s a space 4X where you build your own galactic empire. Starts off pretty straightforward but gets real deep as you expand. The different alien races and tech trees give it tons of replay value. I’ve sunk way too many hours into it already.
Rimworld’s my go-to for strategy and sim. You manage a colony on a distant planet. Starts simple but gets wild fast. So many random events keep you on your toes. Plus the mods add tons of replayability.
