Which soccer video game offers the most realistic gameplay?

Hey everyone! I’m a long-time fan of soccer video games and I’m wondering what you all think about the current state of football sims. I’ve been playing these games for over two decades now, and I recently tried out the latest version of a certain soccer game that uses the Unreal Engine. I was blown away by how realistic it felt!

At first, I was worried when they switched engines because the initial release was pretty rough. But man, they really turned it around. The gameplay is so smooth and lifelike now. It’s honestly the most realistic soccer sim I’ve ever played.

What do you guys think? Have you tried it out? I’m curious if there are any other games out there that can match this level of realism. The only thing I wish they’d bring back is the old manager mode. That would make it perfect in my book.

Let me know your thoughts and experiences with recent soccer games. I’d love to hear what other longtime fans think about how far these sims have come!

PES/eFootball is solid, but FIFA’s still king for realism IMO.

Graphics and gameplay are great in both now.

Career mode in FIFA edges it for me though.

I’ve played a ton of soccer games over the years, and yeah, that new one with the Unreal Engine is pretty impressive. The player movements and ball physics feel way more natural than before.

But I still think FIFA (or EA Sports FC now I guess) is hard to beat for overall realism. The licensing and presentation just make it feel more like you’re watching a real match on TV.

Gameplay-wise they’re probably neck and neck these days. It really comes down to personal preference.

I’ve dabbled in most of the soccer games out there. The Unreal Engine one’s definitely stepped up its game.

Gotta say though, I still find myself coming back to FIFA. Something about the atmosphere just feels right.

But hey, competition’s good. Keeps 'em all pushing for better realism.

I’ve tried both the big soccer games lately. The Unreal Engine one has really smooth animations now.

FIFA still feels more authentic with all the real teams and stadiums though.

Honestly they’re pretty close these days. Just depends what you’re looking for.

Football Manager takes the cake for realism.

Not flashy graphics, but the depth and authentic soccer experience is unmatched.

You really feel like you’re running a club.
