Which Independent Scary Games Left You Petrified?

I’m curious about indie horror games that really got under your skin. What games gave you genuine scares or stood out from the crowd? On the flip side, which ones fell flat or seemed too gimmicky?

I recently played “Who’s Lila?” and it really impressed me. The Chilla’s Art games were fun little experiences too. I dig their creepy vibes and retro graphics, even if some scares felt a bit cheap.

MiSide was okay, but didn’t blow me away. Maybe you saw something in it that I missed?

Iron Lung and Squirrel Stapler are amazing. David Szymanski’s work is top-notch.

For nostalgia, I still love Ao Oni, the original Slender, and Doki-Doki Literature Club.

Oh, and I have to mention the Silkbulb Test demo. That one scared the pants off me! Anyone else try it?

What are your top picks for indie horror? Any hidden gems I should check out?

Soma is amazing! Underwater horror done right.

The atmosphere and story are top-notch. Really makes you think.

Narcosis is another good underwater one, if you want more deep sea scares.

I’ve gotta try Iron Lung and Squirrel Stapler. David Szymanski’s stuff is always solid.

Speaking of underwater horror, SOMA blew me away. The atmosphere is insane and the story really sticks with you.

For something different, Darkwood is incredible. It’s this top-down survival horror that manages to be terrifying without relying on cheap jump scares. The sound design alone will have you on edge the whole time.

Man, Iron Lung was intense! That claustrophobic submarine setting really got to me. I haven’t tried Squirrel Stapler yet, but I’ve heard good things. Might have to check that one out next. Any other underwater horror games you’d recommend?

Darkwood is awesome! That top-down view somehow makes it even creepier. The sound design really gets under your skin. Have you tried Mundaun? It’s not underwater, but the hand-drawn graphics and folk horror vibe make it super unsettling. Definitely worth checking out if you’re into atmospheric indie horror.

Layers of Fear messed me up good. The psychological horror and twisted visuals kept me on edge.

Have you played Soma? It’s underwater and seriously creepy.
