I’ve been pondering over the fantastic indie horror games available and which might be ideal for crossovers with Dead by Daylight. There are numerous lesser-known horror titles featuring unique monsters, captivating mechanics, and eerie atmospheres that could introduce exciting new content to the game.
Many indie games offer inventive killers or survivors that would seamlessly fit into DBD’s asymmetrical gameplay. However, these smaller titles often lack the licensing agreements or mainstream popularity of the well-known horror franchises we frequently encounter.
What indie horror games do you feel would create outstanding chapters for DBD? Which killers or survivors from less prominent horror games would you be eager to play as, even if the likelihood of their inclusion is quite low? I’m looking forward to discovering some hidden gems that others believe should receive more recognition.
The Janitor from Little Nightmares would be perfect. Those stretchy arms could create some wild chase mechanics. Only issue is the art style might clash with DBD’s usual aesthetic.
Signalis would be a great fit for DBD, but it’s a bit too niche for the main crowd. The retro sci-fi aesthetics and those creepy Replika enemies would really blend in with the game’s vibe. Imagine Elster as a survivor! She could have some really cool perks related to her android abilities. The vibe and atmosphere of that game nail the horror feel so well.
Phasmophobia would be amazing, but it’s more investigation-focused than the usual killer vs survivor setup. Though the ghost mechanics could totally work if they tweaked them right.
