Hey fellow gamers! I’ve been thinking about the best scary games ever made, and I came up with my own top 4. It’s like a Mount Rushmore of horror gaming, you know? Here’s my list:
The creepy town classic from 2001
That zombie-filled mansion remake from 2002
The spooky castle game where you can’t fight back
The mind-bending thriller with a writer main character
What do you think? Which games would make it onto your horror gaming monument? I’m super curious to hear your picks and why they stand out to you. Maybe we can debate the scariest moments or most memorable characters too!
Do you agree with any of my choices? Or do you have completely different games in mind? Let’s chat about the horror games that really left a mark on us!
The original Silent Hill still gives me chills. That foggy town and those creepy monsters are burned into my brain. Definitely belongs in the horror hall of fame!
Amnesia: The Dark Descent deserves a spot for sure. That game had me on edge the whole time. No weapons, just hiding and running from monsters. The atmosphere was insane too. Definitely left a mark on horror gaming.
Amnesia was intense, but Fatal Frame 2 really got to me. Using that camera to fight ghosts was so tense. I’d definitely carve that one into my horror hall of fame. The atmosphere and story were top-notch too.
Man, I’d have to put Eternal Darkness on there for sure. That game messed with your head like no other. The sanity effects were so ahead of their time. I still get paranoid my TV’s gonna turn itself off when I’m playing horror games now.
I’d also throw SOMA in there. Not just scary, but it really made you think about what it means to be human. Deep stuff.
