Hey everyone, I’m looking for some advice on two retro-inspired FPS games with dystopian themes. I’ve heard good things about both HROT and Kvark, but I’m not sure which one to try first. Has anyone played both of these games? I’m curious about the overall quality, gameplay, and atmosphere of each. Which one do you think offers a better experience for someone who loves old-school shooters with a dark, oppressive vibe? I’d really appreciate any insights or opinions you can share about these two games. Thanks in advance for your help!
Both are cool, but HROT’s got my vote. The Soviet-inspired setting is crazy atmospheric. Gameplay’s tight, enemies are weird as hell. Feels like stepping into some twisted alternate 1980s. Kvark looks interesting too, but HROT just nails that retro shooter vibe while still feeling fresh. If you’re into dark, oppressive shooters, you can’t go wrong with HROT.
Played both. HROT’s atmosphere is top-notch. Creepy Soviet vibes and weird enemies. Kvark’s cool too, but HROT feels more polished overall. Can’t go wrong with either though.
I’ve played HROT and it’s pretty solid. Old school vibe with some modern touches. The atmosphere is super creepy. Can’t speak for Kvark though, haven’t tried that one yet. If you like gloomy Eastern European settings, HROT nails it.
