Which character archetypes do you enjoy embodying in R.E.P.O.?

I’ve been thinking about different playstyles in R.E.P.O. and how you can tailor your loadout to fit specific team roles. Most players already do this by making one person super strong, but I’m curious about other builds you find fun.

Here are some ideas I’ve tried or want to experiment with:

  1. Muscle Man: This is your main heavy lifter. Max out Strength and Range to handle big objects solo.

  2. Boom Specialist: This guy’s all about grenade kills. Pump up sprint speed and pack lots of explosives for quick hit-and-run attacks.

  3. Melee Master: Give them a big hammer and boost health and range for close-combat fights with tough enemies.

  4. Acrobat: Stack extra jumps to reach tricky spots. Add some Range and Strength as backup skills.

  5. Recon Expert: Go all-in on stamina and speed to map out the area and extraction points fast. They should also have the player count upgrade since they’ll be away from the team a lot.

What other cool character builds have you guys come up with? I’m always looking for new ways to shake up my gameplay!

I’m a fan of the support role. Maxing out stamina and carrying capacity lets me haul extra supplies for the team. It’s not flashy, but it’s super useful on longer runs. Plus, I can still contribute in fights with a decent sidearm.

I love playing as a trap master.

Max out sprint speed and carrying capacity.

Load up on mines and turrets.

Set up defenses while teammates grab loot.

Super fun on extraction missions!

I’m all about the Melee Master build. There’s something so satisfying about smashing through enemies up close. I usually max out health and strength, then grab the biggest hammer I can find. It’s risky, but man is it fun when you pull off a perfect swing and take out a whole group at once. Plus, you save on ammo for the rest of the team.

Lately I’ve been trying a tanky medic build. Max health and lots of healing items.

Not the most exciting, but it’s saved our butts on tough missions more than once.

I dig the Boom Specialist idea. Nothing beats the rush of lobbing a grenade and watching chaos unfold. Lately I’ve been trying a stealth build with max sprint and crouch speed. Sneaking past enemies is super satisfying when it works out.
