I’ve been hearing a lot of negative talk about Mascot Horror games lately. Some folks seem to really dislike this genre. I’m curious about why these games get such a bad rap. Are there specific reasons people find them awful? Maybe it’s the jump scares or the character designs? If you’ve played any Mascot Horror games or know why they’re criticized, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Is it just a matter of personal taste, or are there actual issues with how these games are made?
They do get a bit samey after a while. Lots of devs just copying what’s worked before. But I reckon there’s still potential for something fresh in the genre if someone gets creative with it.
Yeah, I’ve played a few of those mascot horror games. They can be fun at first, but I get why people are tired of them. Seems like every new one is just copying what worked before. The jumpscares get predictable after a while. Still, I think there’s potential if someone came up with a fresh take on the idea.
The genre’s getting pretty played out. Too many copycats trying to cash in on the trend. Games are starting to feel the same, with predictable scares and recycled ideas. Some devs are targeting kids more for merch sales too, which kinda kills the horror vibe.
Mascot horror games have gotten pretty stale lately. I think it’s because everyone’s trying to copy the success of Five Nights at Freddy’s. There’s just too many of them now, and they all feel the same. Plus, a lot of these games are targeting kids to sell merch, which kinda waters down the horror. It’s a shame because the concept could be cool, but most of them end up being more goofy than scary. I’ve played a few and they just don’t hit the same as other horror games.
I’ve played a bunch of those mascot horror games. They can be fun, but I get why people are over them. Most new ones just copy the same old formula. The scares get pretty predictable after you’ve seen a few. Maybe someone will come up with a cool twist on it someday though.
