What small features could make the next big crime game more realistic?

Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking about ways to make the next big open-world crime game feel super real. Like, what if people on the street noticed when you changed your look? Maybe they’d say something if you’re all fancy in a suit, or if you’re dripping wet from the rain.

It’d be cool if the game remembered how you did missions too. Like if you went in guns blazing or snuck around, people might talk about it later. I know that’s a lot of extra voice work, but it’d be so worth it.

Oh, and how about if random people talked about the crazy stuff you did in the game? Like if you pulled off a big robbery, you might hear folks gossiping about it on the street or see it on the news. That kind of stuff would make the world feel alive, you know?

What do you guys think? Any other ideas for little details that could make the game world feel more real?

Dynamic weather affecting NPCs would be cool. Like people opening umbrellas in rain or seeking shade on hot days. Adds realism without needing tons of new dialogue.

Those are some solid ideas. I’d love to see more realistic NPC routines too. Like shopkeepers actually closing up at night, or people hanging out in parks on weekends. Maybe even have some NPCs recognize you if you frequent their businesses. Small touches like that can really bring a game world to life.

Dynamic traffic patterns would be sweet. Rush hour jams, accidents blocking roads, construction detours. Makes the city feel alive and forces you to adapt your routes. Plus it’d add some challenge to getaways.
