What made Warband feel more immersive than Bannerlord?

So I was playing Warband the other night and it hit me - there’s something about it that just feels more real than Bannerlord. Don’t get me wrong, I love Bannerlord, but Warband’s lords seem way more alive somehow.

In Warband, each lord is their own person, you know? They’re not just some random guy with a fancy name. And they all look different too - you can spot them on the battlefield easily.

Bannerlord is supposed to have deeper characters with backstories and all that, but it just doesn’t hit the same. I think it’s because:

  1. In Warband, lords feel unique. In Bannerlord, they’re more like “random dude, son of whatshisface”.
  2. Warband lords have cool armor and distinct looks. You can tell who’s who without even checking names.

I miss being able to make up little stories about the lords in my head. In Bannerlord, it’s harder to keep track of family ties or why someone might be holding a grudge. Anyone else feel this way? How do you think they could make Bannerlord’s lords feel more real?

I get what you mean about Warband’s immersion. The lords there had this quirky charm that stuck with you. Bannerlord’s characters look slick, but they’re kinda forgettable.

I think it’s partly nostalgia, but also Warband’s limitations forced them to get creative with personalities. Bannerlord tried to be more realistic, but ended up feeling a bit bland.

Maybe they could add more unique dialogue or unexpected behaviors to make the lords stand out more?

Totally get what you mean about Warband’s feel. Those weird character models actually made it easier to remember who’s who. Bannerlord looks amazing, but yeah, the lords kinda blend together. Maybe they could add some unique quirks or catchphrases to make them stand out more?

Warband lords feel more alive. Bannerlord’s characters look nice but blend together. Adding distinct traits could really boost their personality.
