I’m curious about what changes everyone thinks would help Dark Souls 2 become a better experience.
Dark Souls 2 has always been a bit controversial in the series. While it has some great moments, there are definitely areas that could use some work. If the developers decided to give it another shot with a remake or remaster, what specific things would you want them to fix?
Personally, I think the collision detection needs major work. The way attacks connect with players often feels off and unfair. But I’m sure there are other issues that bother people too.
What are your thoughts on what should be changed? Are there gameplay mechanics, level design choices, or technical problems that you think really need addressing?
I’d definitely change the way enemies are placed. A lot of spots just drown you in enemies, which feels more frustrating than challenging. It gets old fighting multiple foes in cramped spaces. Another thing is the adaptability stat. It was pretty confusing and made the game clunky before you understood its purpose. Rolling should feel smooth and responsive right from the beginning, not something you have to grind for.
The world connectivity is probably my biggest gripe. Too many areas just feel randomly stuck together instead of having that clever interconnected design from the first game. Like you take an elevator up from a windmill and somehow end up in a lava castle? Makes no sense. Also the durability system was way too harsh, weapons breaking after like 20 swings was just annoying busy work.
