What happened to Game Theory's focus on scientific analysis in gaming?

Remember when Game Theory was all about using real-world science to explain video game mechanics? I’ve been thinking about how the show has changed lately. Now it seems like every other episode is about some creepy mascot game lore or a random mobile app. Don’t get me wrong, I still watch, but I kinda miss the days when MatPat would break down the physics of Mario’s jumps or calculate the actual weight of Diamond armor in Minecraft. Does anyone else feel the same way? What do you think caused this shift in content?

I get what you mean. The old science-y episodes were pretty cool. But I guess they had to change things up to keep viewers interested. Lore theories probably get more views these days. Still, it’d be nice to see some classic physics and math breakdowns once in a while.

I’ve noticed that shift too. The science stuff was cool, but there’s only so many ways you can break down game physics, I guess. Lore videos probably pull in more views and are easier to pump out regularly.

Still, I wouldn’t mind seeing some old-school science episodes pop up now and then. Those were always fun brain teasers.

The science stuff was pretty cool back in the day. I kinda miss those episodes too.

Gotta say though, the lore videos can be pretty fun too. It’s like diving into the game’s hidden stories.

Maybe they’ll mix it up and bring back some of the old-school science episodes once in a while. That’d be awesome.

True, the science angle was awesome. But content creators gotta evolve or die.

Maybe MatPat ran out of formulas to crunch. Or viewers just prefer spooky lore now.

At least the new stuff is still entertaining.

Yeah, the shift is noticeable. They probably found lore videos get more clicks. Science episodes were awesome, but maybe harder to keep coming up with. Still fun to watch, but I do miss those deep dives into game mechanics sometimes.
