I’m really interested to know what changes everyone would wish for in the new story game when we think about the cyber sleuth series. What tweaks to gameplay or alterations to the systems would enhance the experience? I know we can’t ask for it to be an open-world game, but there’s still a lot to consider.
Here are some thoughts I’ve had:
The strong piercing attacks seem a bit unbalanced. They might need to get weakened, or perhaps all other unique skills could use a boost since some creatures without piercing seem quite ineffective.
The character customization options feel limited. We should either have a wider range of clothing choices like those in Pokémon or remove it altogether instead of just altering shirts.
It would be nice to see more interaction with your digimon, like appearing in cutscenes or having moments where we can engage with them.
The investigation segments could be more engaging. A lot of the detective work felt like just clicking through dialogue without much puzzle solving or actual deduction involved.
The digivolve system could definitely be more streamlined. Having to grind specific stats just to unlock certain forms was pretty tedious. Would love if they made it more story-driven or based on how you actually use your digimon in battle rather than just pure stat requirements.
I’d love to see them ditch the random encounter system completely. Walking through areas and getting pulled into battles every few steps killed the momentum for me. If they could make it so you see enemies in the field and choose when to fight, it would feel way more modern and less frustrating when you’re just trying to explore or backtrack.
Combat pacing could use some work too. Battles felt pretty slow in Cyber Sleuth, especially the longer boss fights. Maybe faster animations or an option to speed things up would help keep the flow going.
Really hoping they fix the memory management stuff. Running out of space constantly and having to juggle your team was annoying when you just wanted to try different digimon.
