Walkthrough: Running Schedule I on Apple Silicon Macs via Crossover

Hello Mac gamers! I’ve cracked the code for running Schedule I smoothly on my M1 MacBook Air. Here’s what I discovered:

Failed Attempts:

  • Porting Kit: Game froze at the first screen
  • Whisky: Crashed on loading
  • Crossover (initially): Poor performance

Winning Strategy with Crossover:

  1. Get Crossover (trial or full version)
  2. Set up Steam inside Crossover
  3. Download Schedule I through Steam
  4. Tweak Crossover settings:
    • Pick Schedule I Free Sample
    • Switch Graphics to D3DMetal
    • Change Synchronization to MSync
  5. Launch Schedule I directly from Crossover

Performance Notes:

  • Medium graphics work best
  • God Rays and Bobbing are okay
  • High settings might freeze your Mac

After figuring this out, I’m back to loving my MacBook! Any questions or better ideas? Let me know!

Crossover’s been hit-or-miss for me too, but these tweaks sound promising for Schedule I. D3DMetal seems to be the secret sauce here. Might have to give it a shot on some other games in my backlog and see if it helps. Always cool to see Mac gaming improving.

Cool guide! I’ve been eyeing Schedule I for a while but wasn’t sure how it’d run on my M2 MacBook. Crossover’s been hit or miss for me with other games, but your tweaks sound promising. Might give it a go now. Have you tried any mods with it yet? Sometimes those can really make or break performance on Mac.

Love the guide. D3DMetal really stands out. Looking forward to trying it on my M1 Mac. Do these settings work well with other games?
