I was playing this game where you smash stuff with a sledgehammer. It’s pretty fun, you know? Just breaking things and causing chaos. But then something weird happened. I stumbled into this area that felt like a totally different game. It was dark, creepy, and had these alien things. Talk about a mood switch! I wasn’t ready for that at all. It reminded me of those sci-fi horror games where you’re hiding from monsters. Has anyone else run into surprise horror parts in non-horror games? It really threw me off!
I know what you mean. Lots of games throw in surprise elements. Reminds me of Far Cry 3’s weird drug trip sequences. Those sudden shifts can be jarring but kinda cool too.
Yeah, those surprise horror bits can really catch you off guard. Happened to me in Subnautica. I’m just swimming around exploring, then bam! Creepy deep sea monsters out of nowhere. Scared the crap out of me but made the game way more intense.
Sometimes games incorporate unexpected twists.
It felt weird when chaos turned creepy, but it makes the game more exciting for me.
Totally get that! Reminds me of Minecraft. You’re just building and mining, then suddenly you’re in a dark cave with creepers sneaking up on you. Those unexpected scares really amp up the excitement. Makes you play more carefully too.
Man, I’ve had that happen too. It’s like whiplash when a game suddenly goes all horror on you.
I remember playing Arkham Asylum and hitting those Scarecrow sections. One minute you’re punching goons, the next you’re in this trippy nightmare realm. Totally caught me off guard.
Those surprise scares can be pretty effective though. Keeps you on your toes!
