Trying to remember: Recent indie sci-fi horror game with retro graphics and immersive elements

Hey gamers! I’m scratching my head over a game I saw on Steam last year. It’s bugging me that I can’t remember the name. Here’s what I recall:

  • Indie game with a sci-fi horror theme
  • Released in the last few years
  • Retro 3D graphics, kinda like old school FPS games
  • First-person view
  • Dark atmosphere, you need a flashlight to see
  • Set on a spaceship or station
  • Lots of blood and alien monsters
  • Pixelated textures, no filtering (think chunky pixels)
  • Might have some immersive sim features
  • Only on PC as far as I know

It gave me System Shock vibes, but darker and more modern. I’ve tried searching online but no luck. Anyone know what I’m talking about? It’s driving me nuts! Thanks for any help!

Dude, I think you might be talking about Compound Fracture. It’s got that old school FPS look but with modern horror vibes. Definitely nails the creepy spaceship setting with monsters and blood everywhere. Pretty underrated game if you ask me.

Compound Fracture sounds like a match. Retro graphics, spooky space setting, monsters… pretty cool indie horror game if you’re into that old-school vibe.

Compound Fracture seems to be the one you’re after. Love that retro FPS style with a horror twist. Those pixelated graphics really add to the creepy atmosphere. Kinda makes me want to check it out now too!

Sounds a lot like Signalis. Retro sci-fi horror with pixelated graphics and creepy vibes. Came out recently and got pretty good reviews. Might be what you’re looking for!

Sounds like it could be Compound Fracture. Came out a couple years ago, has that retro FPS look with chunky pixels. Definitely nails the creepy sci-fi vibe with lots of blood and monsters. Pretty sure it’s got some immersive sim stuff too. Not as well known as Signalis, but fits what you’re describing pretty well. Worth checking out if that’s not it.
