Hey everyone! I’m on the hunt for some spine-chilling indie horror games but there are so many out there. I’m feeling a bit lost. Can you guys share your favorite scary games made by small developers? I’m looking for stuff that’s not from big game companies.
What are some hidden gems you’ve found? I’d love to hear about games with amazing stories or ones that really made you jump out of your seat. Bonus points if they’re easy to find online!
I’m open to all suggestions. Maybe you’ve played something recently that kept you up at night? Or an older game that still gives you the creeps? Let me know what you think is worth checking out!
Have you played Amnesia: The Dark Descent? That game still gives me chills. The atmosphere is intense and the story keeps you hooked. Definitely worth checking out if you haven’t already.
Outlast is one of those indie horror games that really sticks with you. The asylum setting is creepy as hell and the night vision camera mechanic adds to the tension. It’s not for the faint of heart though. Lots of gruesome stuff and intense chases that’ll get your heart racing. Definitely play it with headphones for the full effect.
Soma is a fantastic indie horror game. The underwater setting is creepy as hell and the story really messes with your head. Not many jump scares but the existential dread is real. Frictional Games nailed it with this one.
Phasmophobia is pretty solid for indie horror. It’s got that ghost hunting vibe and can be super tense when you’re trying to figure out what you’re dealing with. Playing with friends makes it even better.
