Struggling with intense horror games - am I the only one?

Hey everyone, I’m feeling a bit silly but I need to share this. I just finished my first Resident Evil game and it took me over 10 hours! I think I spent too much time exploring every corner. As a kid, I tried RE3 and it scared me so bad I couldn’t continue. Now I’m playing RE7 and it’s terrifying, but I’m loving it. Is anyone else easily spooked by these games? How do you deal with the intense scares? I feel like such a scaredy-cat, but I can’t stop playing. Any tips for a horror newbie like me?

RE7 is pretty intense! I had to take breaks playing that one. For scary games, I like to play with friends or watch let’s plays first. It helps to know what’s coming so you can brace yourself. But being scared is part of the fun too!

RE7 is a real nail-biter. I play with headphones on low volume. Lets me hear important stuff without getting too freaked out. Taking breaks helps too. The scary parts are what make it fun though!

RE7 is definitely scary stuff. I’m the same way sometimes. What helps me is reminding myself it’s just a game. Taking breaks when it gets too intense works too. The fear is part of the fun though right?

RE7 is a real heart-pounder. No shame in taking it slow.

Playing in a well-lit room with some background noise can help take the edge off.

Remember, you’re in control. You can pause anytime you need a breather.

Horror games are meant to be scary, so don’t sweat it. I’ve been gaming for ages and still get freaked out sometimes. RE7 is especially intense. Try playing in short bursts if it gets too much. And remember, dying in the game isn’t a big deal. You can always try again. The fear is part of what makes these games so thrilling.
