Space sim developer Intercept Games closes as parent company Take Two cuts jobs

Bad news for space game fans! The company behind Kerbal Space Program 2 is shutting down.

I just heard that Take-Two Interactive is closing Intercept Games, the Seattle studio that made KSP2. They’re laying off about 70 people, which is pretty much the whole team.

This really sucks! I was looking forward to more updates for KSP2. Does anyone know if this means the game won’t get any more support? Or if another studio might take over?

It’s crazy how fast things can change in the game industry. One day you’re working on a cool space sim, the next day your whole studio is gone. I feel bad for all the devs losing their jobs.

What do you guys think this means for the future of Kerbal Space Program? Will there be a KSP3 someday, or is this the end of the line?

Man, that’s rough news about KSP2. I was really hoping they’d keep building on it.

Space sims are tricky to get right, but KSP had something special. Maybe the modding community will keep it alive if official support stops.

Wonder if any other studios will try to fill that niche now.

Yeah, it’s a real shame about KSP2. Space sims are already pretty rare.

I wonder if any other devs will try to make something similar. The physics-based rocket building in KSP was so unique.

Hopefully the modding community can keep it going for a while at least.

That’s a real bummer about KSP2. Space sims are already kinda niche.

Not sure what’ll happen now, but hopefully someone picks up the torch. KSP has a pretty dedicated fanbase.

Ugh, this sucks for KSP2. I’ve sunk so many hours into the first game.

It’s a real shame to see Intercept Games close down. The space sim genre isn’t exactly overflowing with options.

I’m hoping Take-Two might hand it off to another studio. There’s still a lot of potential in the KSP franchise if they can find the right team to keep it going.

Sad news for sure. Space sims are rare gems these days.

Maybe the modding scene will keep KSP2 alive for a while.

I’m curious if any indie devs might try to make a spiritual successor.
