Hey gamers! I’m on the hunt for some fresh indie horror experiences. I’ve played through a bunch of great short games, but now I’m itching for something new. I’m looking for games that:
Don’t take too long to finish
Have some cool puzzle elements
Tell an interesting story
I’m really into atmospheric, creepy vibes. Bonus points if it’s got that indie charm!
What are some hidden gems you’ve found? I’m open to any suggestions, even if they’re not super well-known. Thanks in advance for your recommendations!
Fran Bow is a hidden gem that fits the bill. It’s a dark point-and-click with twisted puzzles and a creepy story about a girl in a mental hospital. The art style is unique and unsettling. Definitely has that indie vibe you’re looking for.
Check out Oxenfree. Spooky island mystery with cool puzzles and dialogue choices. Story’s wild and the atmosphere is super creepy. Took me about 5 hours. Definitely has that indie feel.
I’d suggest checking out STASIS. It’s a point-and-click adventure with a sci-fi horror vibe. The puzzles are challenging but not frustrating, and the story keeps you hooked. It’s got that eerie, isolated atmosphere that really gets under your skin. Took me about 8-10 hours to finish, so it’s not too long either.
Little Nightmares is pretty sweet if you haven’t tried it. The puzzles aren’t super hard but the atmosphere is creepy as hell. Took me about 4 hours to beat. The story is mostly visual but it’s really intriguing.
Layers of Fear is pretty good for a short spooky game. Cool puzzles and a trippy story about an artist going mad. Really nails that creepy vibe you’re after.
