Hey everyone! I’m just getting into scary games and I’m looking for some awesome recommendations. I recently played the Dead Space remake and it blew me away! It was my first real horror game experience and now I’m hooked.
I’m open to any type of horror game, whether it’s sci-fi like Dead Space or something completely different. The main things I’m after are:
Super immersive gameplay
A good challenge (I like it when games make me work for it!)
I know there are classics out there like Resident Evil, but I haven’t tried any of those yet. So I’m all ears for your suggestions, whether they’re well-known titles or hidden gems.
What are some must-play horror games that’ll keep me on the edge of my seat? I’m ready to face my fears and dive deeper into this genre!
If you dug Dead Space, you might want to check out the Resident Evil 2 remake. It’s got that same over-the-shoulder style but in a creepy police station setting. The zombies are tough and resources are scarce, so it’ll definitely challenge you. Plus, the atmosphere is super tense throughout. It’s a great entry point into the classic survival horror genre.
Alien: Isolation is a solid choice. Intense atmosphere, challenging stealth gameplay, and a relentless alien hunting you. It’ll definitely keep you on edge!
I’d throw Amnesia: The Dark Descent into the mix. It’s an oldie but a goodie. No weapons, just you and your sanity meter in a creepy castle. The tension builds slowly but man, it gets under your skin.
Outlast is worth a shot if you’re looking for something really intense. It’s first-person and you can’t fight back, just run and hide. Pretty freaky stuff in an abandoned asylum. Definitely keeps you on edge the whole time.
