Seeking inspiration: Which game's backstory and characters would enhance our life simulation project?

Hey everyone! We’re making progress on our life simulator game. inZOI did an awesome job with the character creator. Now we need to think about the game’s story and premade characters.

I’m curious to hear your thoughts. What games have really cool lore or interesting characters that we could use as inspiration? Maybe there’s a game with a unique take on life stories or character backgrounds that you think would fit well in our simulator.

Share your ideas! It doesn’t have to be from a life sim game either. Any game with compelling characters or an intriguing world could work. Let’s brainstorm and see what we can come up with to make our game’s world and characters really stand out!

Fallout’s perk system could work well for a life sim. You pick traits that shape your character’s abilities and personality. It’d be cool to see how different combos affect a person’s life path in your game.

Stardew Valley’s characters are pretty memorable. Each villager has their own personality and story that unfolds as you get to know them. Could be cool to have NPCs with that kind of depth in a life sim.

Animal Crossing’s quirky villagers could be great inspiration. Each has a unique personality and backstory that adds charm to the game world.

Mass Effect’s character creation and backstory options are awesome. You pick your upbringing, psych profile, and military history. It’d be cool to have that level of depth for character backgrounds in a life sim.

Plus the companion characters all have rich histories that affect how they interact. Could make for some really dynamic relationships between characters in your game.

The Sims has some cool pre-made families with interesting backstories. Their neighborhood drama could be fun to adapt for a life sim.
