Seeking dystopian indie game about journalism's impact on society

Hey everyone! I’m trying to remember this cool game I played a while back. It was an indie title, probably from the 2010s, where you play as someone in the news business.

The game had this really interesting mechanic where you’d pick articles to publish or maybe even write them yourself. The cool part was that your choices actually changed the world around you. I remember seeing protests outside getting bigger depending on what you did.

The graphics were kind of 2.5D, and the camera would move along a street. I think you could see an office or maybe a bedroom too. Pretty sure there were multiple endings based on your decisions.

Anyone know what I’m talking about? It had this whole dystopian vibe and really made you think about the power of the media. I’ve been wanting to play it again but can’t remember the name. Thanks for any help!

The Westport Independent sounds spot on. Love games that make you think about media’s power.

Choosing articles and seeing the city change must be intense. Bet it feels super relevant these days too.

The Westport Independent is a solid guess. The whole idea of shaping society through news is pretty mind-bending. Makes you look at real headlines differently after playing. Kinda scary how much power media can have.

The Westport Independent is pretty great. Really makes you think about how news shapes things. I remember feeling kinda uneasy about some of the choices. Crazy how a game can make you see media differently. Definitely worth checking out again if you’re into that kind of thing.

Sounds like you’re describing The Westport Independent. That game really nails the whole media influence thing. I remember feeling pretty tense deciding which stories to run. The way it shows how your choices affect the city is pretty cool. Definitely worth another playthrough if you can find it.

That game sounds intense. Reminds me of Papers, Please but with journalism instead of border control. The way your choices shape the world is pretty cool. Always liked games that make you think about real-world stuff.

I haven’t played The Westport Independent but it sounds similar. Might have to check that one out too. Love a good dystopian indie game.

The Westport Independent is such a cool concept. Choosing articles and seeing the consequences play out is pretty intense. Makes you really think about how news shapes things in real life. Definitely gonna give it another playthrough soon.

Oh man, that game sounds familiar. I think I played something similar a few years back. The whole concept of shaping society through journalism is pretty wild. Games that make you question the impact of media are always interesting.

Have you tried looking through your Steam library or checking your purchase history? Sometimes that jogs my memory when I’m trying to find an old game I played.
