Today was quite an experience for me, and I can’t decide if I’m feeling accomplished or a bit worried about my cooking habits. I spent most of the day preparing various dishes but completely overlooked my own meals. By the evening, I was really hungry and tired, so I resorted to drinking the leftover, tasty liquid from the beef short ribs I cooked yesterday. Rather than preparing a full meal, I just warmed it up and had it like a soup. Surprisingly, it was quite satisfying and kept me energized while finishing my other tasks. Has anyone else found themselves in a similar situation? I feel like I’ve either hit a high point in my cooking journey or I’m being careless with my health. That broth was delicious, so maybe it still counts as food?
That’s just really good bone broth. You accidentally made the fancy health food people pay big money for.
Honestly that braising liquid’s probably more nutritious than half the junk I eat during gaming marathons. At least you’re getting real flavor and nutrients from those short ribs.
For sure, that kind of thing happens to the best of us. Braising liquid is packed with flavor and can actually be nutritious. I’ve definitely been so wrapped up in cooking that I skip meals too. Better to enjoy that good broth than just snack on junk. It sounds like you made the most of it!
