Prime Video Ends 'The Wheel Of Time' Series Following Third Season

I just heard that Amazon Prime Video decided to cancel The Wheel Of Time show after three seasons. This is pretty disappointing news for fans of the fantasy series.

I was really getting into the story and the characters were starting to develop nicely. The show seemed to be finding its footing after the first season had some mixed reviews. Does anyone know what the official reasons were for ending it? Was it because of low viewership numbers or maybe budget concerns?

I’m curious if other streaming platforms might pick it up or if this is really the end. There’s still so much source material from Robert Jordan’s books that could have been adapted. What do you think about this decision? Are you as bummed out as I am about losing another fantasy show just when it was getting good?

Same thing happened with so many other shows lately. Streaming platforms seem to cancel everything that doesn’t become an instant hit. Really wish they’d give these fantasy series more time to grow their audience.

Fantasy shows always get the axe too early. At least we got three seasons instead of the usual one and done treatment.

Really sucks when they pull the plug on fantasy shows right when they start hitting their stride. The Wheel of Time books are massive and there was definitely enough material to keep going for years. Streaming services seem to have zero patience these days - if a show doesn’t blow up immediately they just axe it instead of letting it build an audience.

It’s wild how they do that. The show had potential but maybe it just didn’t attract enough viewers to justify the costs.
