Hey everyone! I’m about to dive into the world of horror games for the first time, and I’m feeling pretty nervous. I’ve always been a bit of a chicken when it comes to scary stuff, so I’m not sure what to expect. Any tips for a newbie like me? How intense do these games usually get? I’m worried I might freak out and not be able to finish the game. Are there any beginner-friendly horror titles you’d recommend? Or should I just bite the bullet and go for a really scary one to get it over with? I’d love to hear about your first horror game experiences too. Did anyone else feel this anxious before starting? Thanks in advance for any advice!
Start with something mild like Little Nightmares. It’s creepy but not too intense. You can always work your way up to scarier stuff later if you enjoy it.
Amnesia: The Dark Descent is a classic. It’s creepy but not too scary. Good for getting your feet wet. Just take it slow and remember you can pause anytime.
I started with Outlast and it was pretty intense. If you’re new to horror games, maybe try something lighter first. SOMA is a good mix of creepy and story-driven without too many jump scares. Just take breaks if it gets too much and enjoy the ride!
I started with Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Wasn’t sure I could handle it but man, what a rush! The atmosphere is creepy as hell. Just take it slow and remember it’s all just pixels on a screen. You might surprise yourself and end up loving it.
I remember my first horror game. It was Resident Evil 4 and I was terrified but couldn’t stop playing. My advice? Pick something atmospheric but not too intense. Maybe try Oxenfree or SOMA. They’re creepy but won’t have you jumping out of your skin every 5 minutes. And play with the lights on if you need to. No shame in that.
