I’m trying to remember this movie from 2008 about a futuristic world where society has collapsed. The main plot revolves around participants who enter a dangerous racing tournament that spans across the country. What makes this competition unique is that competitors are actually allowed and encouraged to eliminate each other during the race as part of the official rules.

The setting is in a dark future timeline where normal civilization has broken down. I think the racing event was some kind of televised spectacle for entertainment. Does anyone know what this film is called? I remember it being an action movie with lots of vehicle combat scenes.
