I recently stumbled upon some intriguing information regarding the new Dark Heresy game from Owlcat Games. The team seems dedicated to advancing the game’s character dynamics and storytelling elements. It appears they are incorporating some innovative romance aspects that surpass what we’ve previously seen in other Warhammer 40K titles. Has anyone else picked up on these intriguing features? I’m interested to know how they will manage to integrate these personal connections while staying true to the dark tone of the 40K universe. What do you think about this new direction for the series?
Honestly I’m pretty curious about this too. Dark Heresy specifically might actually be the perfect 40K setting for romance since you’re playing regular humans dealing with investigation stuff rather than space marines constantly at war. The whole concept of finding connection in such a bleak universe could actually make the relationships feel more meaningful and desperate.
Could add some real emotional weight to the story actually. Nothing makes you care about characters more than when they have something to lose
Wonder if they’ll go full tragic romance route since everything in 40K tends to end badly anyway
Should be interesting to see how they pull it off. The grimdark setting doesn’t scream romance but Owlcat did great work with Pathfinder so maybe they can make it work without breaking the tone.
Romance in grimdark 40K sounds wild but Owlcat usually nails the balance between story and atmosphere
