Hey folks! I’m trying to remember this spooky indie game I saw on YouTube. It’s driving me nuts that I can’t find it!
Here’s what I recall:
Pixel art style with a limited color palette
Side-scrolling gameplay
You’re a human girl in a town full of talking animals
There’s a forest at the edge of town that’s off-limits
You can sneak past the sleeping guard at night
In the woods, you meet a dark creature and the game crashes
When you restart, the town is all messed up and rainy
The animals blame you for what happened
It’s not Animal Village, and I think the title had ‘town’ in it. The whole thing was pretty creepy, which is why I never played it myself. Can anyone help me figure out what this game was called? It’s been bugging me for ages!
Sounds a bit like Night in the Woods, but not quite. There’s a bunch of similar mystery games with animal towns lately. Maybe check out some indie horror compilations on YouTube?
That game sounds super intriguing! The whole animal town vibe mixed with creepy forest exploration is right up my alley. Wish I could remember the name, but now I kinda want to play it myself. Let me know if you find it!
That game sounds wild! I love how it mixes cute animals with creepy vibes. The whole town changing after a crash is such a cool mechanic. Makes me think of Undertale a bit, with how actions affect the world. I’m gonna keep an eye out for this one too!
Man, that game sounds familiar but I can’t put my finger on it. Definitely not Night in the Woods though. The crashing and town changing is a cool twist. Reminds me a bit of Doki Doki Literature Club with the meta stuff. Have you tried looking through itch.io? Lots of weird indie gems on there that fit this vibe.
