Looking for wireless gaming headset with surround sound that actually works for immersion

Please don’t suggest using EQ settings - I’ve already tested that approach and it doesn’t solve my issue

I previously owned a pair of Logitech G933 headphones and the surround sound feature was absolutely incredible for gaming. The immersion was so good that when I played FPS games with my buddy (who had some expensive Turtle Beach headset), he said my cheaper headphones gave him better positional audio than his premium ones.

Unfortunately Logitech stopped making the G933 model and replaced it with the G935. The newer version uses DTS: X instead of the original audio technology, and honestly it sounds awful - like everything is muffled and distorted.

I’m specifically interested in headsets that support Dolby Atmos since that seems to be the main difference between my old working headphones and the terrible replacement. Has anyone found wireless gaming headphones that deliver that same “you’re actually inside the game” feeling? I need something that gives accurate directional audio for competitive gaming.

The Corsair HS70 Pro could work for you. The surround sound actually feels immersive, not just loud.

SteelSeries Arctis 7P is worth checking out. The spatial audio feels solid and gives good directional cues in shooters without that muffled sound you mentioned.

Same thing happened when my G933s died. Got the HyperX Cloud Flight S and it’s been great for positional audio. The 7.1 surround has real depth - not that fake processed garbage most headsets pump out. Battery life’s solid too, unlike those Logitechs.
