Hey everyone! I’m on the hunt for some new indie horror games to play. I recently finished the Fears to Fathom series and it was awesome. Now I’m craving more scary experiences. Can anyone recommend some good short horror games that’ll give me the creeps? I’m into atmospheric stuff, jump scares, and interesting stories. Bonus points if they’re not super well-known titles. What are your favorite hidden gems in the indie horror scene? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
I really dig Darkwood for indie horror. The top-down view is different but it nails the creepy atmosphere. Exploring the woods at night had me on edge the whole time. Definitely worth trying if you want something unique.
Lost in Vivo is a real hidden gem. Super creepy atmosphere and some genuinely unsettling moments. It’s like a twisted version of Silent Hill. Definitely worth checking out if you’re into psychological horror.
Scratches is a hidden indie horror gem.
Creepy atmosphere and puzzles that’ll mess with your head.
Old-school point-and-click style, but still pretty scary.
I’m a big fan of Outlast. It’s not super obscure, but man does it nail the creepy atmosphere. You’re basically defenseless the whole time, just running and hiding from some seriously messed up enemies. The night vision camera mechanic adds to the tension too. Definitely had me on edge throughout the whole game.
Layers of Fear is a mind-bending indie horror. Messes with your perception and has some good scares. Not super long either, perfect for a creepy night in.
