Looking for relaxing RPGs with exploration and nature elements?

Hey everyone! I’m searching for a game that combines RPG elements with a peaceful, immersive atmosphere. I really want something that has plant gathering, maybe some alchemy systems, and gives off those chill vibes.

I tried games like Stardew Valley and Sun Haven which were fun, but they felt more like management sims to me. What I’m really craving is that open world exploration feeling with proper character development systems. Think about those early moments in Skyrim when you’d wander around collecting ingredients, stumbling upon random locations, hiding from dangerous creatures, and basically ignoring the story completely. That’s exactly the vibe I’m going for.

Anyone know games that scratch this particular itch? Or maybe some good Skyrim overhaul mods that could make it feel fresh again? Really appreciate any recommendations you folks might have!

Subnautica sounds weird for this but hear me out. It’s underwater, sure, but the exploration and resource gathering is incredible. You’re constantly finding new biomes, collecting materials, crafting survival gear. Has that same wandering vibe as early Skyrim but in an alien ocean. The deeper you go, the more you’ll be hiding from terrifying creatures.

Outward might work for you. It’s got survival elements, crafting, and tons of wandering around dangerous wilderness collecting stuff.

Witcher 3 is exactly what you’re looking for. The herbalism system rocks and you can easily spend hours just wandering around picking flowers and exploring random caves - main quest? What main quest?
