I’m searching for video games with incredible storytelling that will completely captivate me. I want something with plot twists, deep emotional moments, or just an overall narrative that stays with you forever. Genre doesn’t really matter to me - could be an RPG, adventure game, action title, or even something more niche. I just need a story that’s going to mess with my head in the best way possible.

The Last of Us (both games)
God of War series (2018 and Ragnarok)
Red Dead Redemption 2
Ghost of Tsushima
All three Spider-Man games
Plus several others I’m forgetting
Please don’t suggest Silent Hill 2 though - I’m not really into puzzle-heavy games. What are your top picks for mind-blowing stories?
NieR: Automata wrecked me emotionally. Playing through it multiple times completely flips everything you think you understand - it’s genius. Every ending hits differently, and by the real ending you’re questioning everything. Life is Strange is another good one if you want to be ugly crying at 2am.
Outer Wilds wrecked me. Can’t spoil it, but how everything connects and that ending - holy shit. It’s exploration-heavy, totally different from your list, but the story reveal is mind-blowing. Also Mass Effect trilogy if you haven’t played it. Your choices actually count and some scenes will destroy you.
Spec Ops: The Line completely broke me. Looks like a generic military shooter but the story goes to some really dark places that stuck with me for weeks.
