Hey everyone! I’m on the hunt for some awesome dystopian books with queer romance. I’ve been obsessed with stories like The Hunger Games and The Last of Us lately. They’ve got that perfect mix of action, world-ending drama, and heart-pounding relationships. Now I’m craving something similar but with LGBTQ+ characters front and center. Any recommendations? I’m open to YA or adult fiction. Bonus points if it’s got some cool sci-fi elements too! Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
Gotta check out ‘The Electric Heir’ by Victoria Lee.
Dystopian world, queer romance, and some cool sci-fi tech stuff.
Hits that Hunger Games vibe but with LGBTQ+ characters.
If you’re into dystopian stuff with LGBTQ+ characters, you might want to give ‘Gideon the Ninth’ by Tamsyn Muir a shot. It’s not exactly apocalyptic, but it’s got that gritty sci-fi vibe with necromancers in space. The main character is a lesbian, and there’s plenty of action and dark humor. It’s pretty wild and definitely not your typical YA fare.
Ooh, check out ‘The Disasters’ by M.K. England. Queer characters, space heist, dystopian vibes. Fun read with found family feels too.
Nice to see more LGBTQ+ apocalyptic stories out there. I recently played through ‘Masquerada: Songs and Shadows’. It’s not exactly like The Last of Us, but it’s got some cool dystopian vibes and queer characters. Might be worth checking out if you’re into games too!
Oh man, I’ve been looking for the same thing! Have you checked out ‘The Scorpion Rules’ by Erin Bow? It’s got that dystopian vibe with an LGBTQ+ twist. Not exactly like Hunger Games, but still pretty intense. Also, ‘Crier’s War’ by Nina Varela might scratch that itch. It’s got AI, rebellion, and a sapphic romance. Both are solid reads if you’re into that post-apocalyptic queer stuff.
