Looking for hidden gems: What are some super engaging solo games?

Hey guys, I’m on the hunt for some awesome solo board games that really suck you in. My current faves are Arkham (total winner), Star Wars: Outer Rim, and Final Girl. I love how these games make me feel like I’m part of the action and tell a different story each time.

I’ve realized that storytelling is a huge deal for me in solo gaming. Like, I enjoy Under Falling Skies, but it doesn’t quite hit the spot story-wise.

I’ve also played Nemesis (super intense), Sentinels of the Multiverse (surprisingly immersive for a card game), and Marvel Champions (kinda there). Dice Throne Adventures gives me that RPG dungeon crawl vibe too.

So, what other games out there can give me that same feeling of being totally wrapped up in the story? I’m talking about games that make you forget you’re just moving pieces on a board. Any hidden treasures I might’ve missed? Hit me with your best suggestions!

Sleeping Gods is a hidden gem for solo. You explore a huge world map, meet weird characters, and uncover a wild story. Every decision feels important.

Have you tried Spirit Island? It’s a beast to learn, but man, the storytelling is top-notch. You’re these powerful spirits defending your island from colonizers. Each game feels different, and you really get invested in protecting your land.

Another one to check out is Robinson Crusoe. It’s brutal, but the adventures you go through are super engaging. You’ll be cursing at dice rolls and cheering when you survive another day on that crazy island.

Gloomhaven’s pretty intense for solo play. You’re juggling multiple characters, but the story and dungeon crawling are super immersive. It’s like playing through a massive fantasy novel. Took me a while to get into, but now I’m hooked.
