Looking for deeply moving games that will stay with me forever

I’m going through a really tough time right now and need some gaming recommendations. I just got some life changing news and I’m looking for games that can really touch my heart and give me meaningful experiences. Since I can’t really afford to go places or do expensive things, I want to dive into virtual worlds that will make a lasting impression on me.

I’m not necessarily looking for happy games, just ones that are emotionally powerful and memorable. What games have really moved you or changed how you see things? I want to experience stories that feel important and stay with you long after you finish playing.

Any genre is fine as long as it has that emotional depth I’m searching for right now.

What Remains of Edith Finch absolutely wrecked me. It’s this walking sim about exploring your family home and uncovering all these tragic stories about your relatives. Each death is told in a completely different way and some of them are just haunting.

Also gonna throw out SOMA since it really messed with my head in the best way possible. Makes you question what it means to be human and conscious. Still randomly think about that game’s ending sometimes.

Firewatch really got to me. Just two people talking over radio but somehow becomes this deep thing about life and relationships.

To the Moon broke me completely. That game about fulfilling dying wishes through memories hit way harder than I expected. Still think about it years later.
