KCD2: My thoughts on immersion, missing features, and bugs I've run into (Spoilers inside)

Hey folks, I’ve been playing Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and while it’s way better than the first one in many ways, I’ve noticed some stuff that bugs me. Some of it’s pretty minor, but other things are kinda annoying.

Here’s what I’ve seen:

  • Being drunk isn’t as realistic as in KCD1. You just stumble a bit, no blurry vision or passing out.
  • Horse drinking animations look off.
  • NPCs talk about rain when it’s sunny.
  • People don’t run for cover when it rains like they did in KCD1.
  • Rain starts and stops suddenly, sometimes with no clouds.
  • Rain effects look cheap and sometimes it rains indoors.
  • Guards don’t seem to change shifts or get in trouble for being drunk.
  • Can’t ride with some caravans that stop at taverns.
  • Hearing the same voice for different characters breaks immersion.
  • Dead bodies vanish too fast.
  • Haven’t seen enemies get knocked out or slowly die like in KCD1.
  • Weird shadow glitches in cutscenes.
  • Tournament guards try to arrest me for fighting.
  • Sometimes can’t leave after playing dice.
  • Henry keeps saying he’s hungry over and over.
  • Hogs don’t run when shot while mud bathing.

That’s just some of what I’ve noticed. Anyone else run into this stuff?

I’ve been playing KCD2 too and noticed some of those issues. The rain stuff is definitely off. I’m also bummed about the drunk effects. KCD1 nailed that.

On the plus side, I’m loving the expanded world and improved combat. The story’s gripping me more this time around too.

Have you tried any of the new side activities? The tavern games are a fun diversion.

Sounds like a mix of good and bad. The drunk thing is disappointing.

I’ve noticed some of those issues too, especially the rain stuff. Hopefully they’ll patch it soon.

What’s your favorite improvement from the first game?

I’ve been enjoying KCD2 overall, but yeah, there are some rough edges. The rain issues are pretty noticeable. Combat feels smoother though, and I’m digging the expanded world. Kinda miss the intense drunk effects from the first game though. Still, it’s a solid sequel.
