[KCD2] Getting tired of playing in the Kuttenberg area?

Been playing this game nonstop since it came out but I’m starting to feel pretty exhausted with it.

Spent about 45 hours in Trotsky and it was absolutely amazing. Never had such a great time with a game before. The main story was incredible and all the side missions actually made me care about the NPCs. Watching Henry slowly improve his skills felt really rewarding too. But now I’m in Kuttenberg and things feel different.

I was really hyped to check out this new area but something feels off. It’s like the developers focused too much on Trotsky and didn’t put the same effort into balancing Kuttenberg. I’ve put in about 10 hours here and my character isn’t getting any stronger. I already have the top tier weapons, armor, and clothing. All my stats are maxed out at 20+ and I have way too much money with nothing useful to buy.

The story progression feels slower now too. The main quests have way more boring fetch missions just to make the new map feel bigger. Most side quests are pretty meh and just involve running around collecting stuff for tiny rewards. The main plot is still okay but I find myself skipping through a lot of the long NPC conversations.

Don’t get me wrong, this game is still way better than most other games out there. I bet hardcore mode would fix most of these issues. Should I just quit my current playthrough and start hardcore mode instead or finish the story first then try hardcore?

Yeah, Kuttenberg definitely loses steam. Since you’re already deep in, I’d just power through and finish the story. Then jump into hardcore mode - that’ll give you the fresh challenge you need.

Hardcore mode is basically a different game. I’d start fresh with it rather than slogging through more Kuttenberg burnout.

I get this completely. Kuttenberg feels like they ran out of steam compared to Trotsky. Once you’re overpowered and just going through the motions, the magic’s gone. I’d probably stick it out since you’re only 10 hours in, but if you’re really not enjoying it, hardcore mode might bring back that early excitement.
