Is the subway system too pristine for a dystopian setting?

I’m confused: in this dystopian game, the metro is too clean and efficient. Shouldn’t a gritty future have a rough transit system?

Not necessarily. Some dystopias might prioritize public transport to control population movement. Clean subways could be a way to mask deeper societal issues. It’s an interesting twist on the usual grungy dystopian look.

That said, I’d expect some signs of wear or heavy security presence to hint at the darker reality beneath the polished surface.

Depends on the type of dystopia. Some could have super clean subways to keep up appearances. But yeah, most dystopian worlds I’ve seen in games have pretty run-down public transport. Kinda adds to the grimy atmosphere.

Interesting twist! A super clean subway could be creepy in its own way.

Maybe it’s spotless because of harsh punishments for littering.

Or robots obsessively clean it 24/7.
