Is Prey (2017) the ultimate example of great game design?

Hey guys, I’ve been playing Prey for about 10 hours now and I’m blown away. The way the game lets you explore and interact with the spaceship is mind-blowing. I’ve never experienced anything like it before.

I’m new to this “immersive sim” thing, but I’ve played Dishonored and tried Bioshock. Gotta admit, I gave up on Bioshock 'cause it didn’t grab me.

What do you all think about Prey and these kinds of games? Any other cool ones I should try?

Oh, and is Bioshock really that similar to Prey? I keep seeing people say that, and it’s making me wonder if I should give Bioshock another shot.

Let me know what you think!

Prey’s level design is top-notch. The freedom to solve puzzles creatively is what makes it shine.

If you’re into that, check out Dishonored 2. It takes the immersive sim concept even further.

Prey is awesome for sure. I loved how you can tackle situations in so many ways. If you’re into that style, definitely try Deus Ex: Human Revolution. It’s got a similar vibe with lots of player choice. Bioshock is cool too, but yeah, it’s more on rails than Prey.

Prey is definitely a standout in game design. The level of freedom and creativity it offers is insane. I’ve spent hours just messing around with different approaches to problems.

If you’re digging Prey, you might want to check out Deus Ex or System Shock 2. They’re older but have that same open-ended gameplay.

As for Bioshock, it’s more linear than Prey but still has some cool environmental storytelling. Maybe give it another go if you’re in the mood for a more directed experience.
