Is our unconventional horror game concept - playing as a microwave - worth pursuing?

Hey everyone! My team and I just finished developing a pretty unique horror game. We took a weird twist on the first-person genre by making the player take on the role of… wait for it… a microwave! I know it sounds crazy, but we thought it might be an interesting way to create tension and scares from an unexpected perspective. Now we’re wondering if this idea actually has potential or if we’ve gone off the deep end. What do you all think? Would you be interested in a horror game where you’re stuck as a kitchen appliance? Or is this concept too out there? We’d love to hear your honest thoughts before we decide whether to move forward with it. Thanks for any feedback!

Sounds intriguing! Playing as a microwave could create some unique scares. Maybe you see creepy stuff happening but can’t do anything. Or use your beeps to warn people. It’s weird, but that could work for a horror game if done right.

That’s wild! I love it when devs think outside the box. Reminds me of stuff like Untitled Goose Game or I Am Bread. Horror from a microwave’s POV could be pretty intense actually. Like, imagine seeing creepy stuff happening in the kitchen but being powerless to do anything. Or using your dings and lights to try and warn people. Might be niche, but I’d totally give it a shot if the execution’s good.

That’s actually pretty creative. Reminds me of those wacky indie games that put you in unexpected roles. Could be cool if you play with sound effects and limited vision to create tension. Might not appeal to everyone, but horror fans are always looking for something fresh. If you do it right, it could be a sleeper hit.

Sounds pretty wild! I’ve played some weird games before, but a microwave horror game is next level. Could be cool if you use the beeps and lights to create tension. Might be too niche for some, but horror fans are always looking for something different. If you can nail the atmosphere, it could work.

Sounds like a quirky twist on horror games. Could work if you nail the atmosphere and mechanics. Imagine using your microwave sounds to scare off intruders or warn people. Definitely niche, but might find its audience if executed well.
