Is my father right to worry about a drug-dealing video game?

I started playing this new game where you act as a drug dealer. At first my dad thought it was funny but now he’s worried. He thinks the police might come after me for playing it. I tried to explain it’s just a game with a disclaimer against real drug use. But he still wants me to uninstall it.

I’m not sure how to handle this. I don’t want to argue with him or make him feel dumb. But I also want to keep playing. The game is made by one person so it’s not like the cops are behind it.

How can I talk to my dad about this without upsetting him? I’ve never done drugs and he knows that. I just want to enjoy the game without him worrying.

Update: Good news! My dad seems to be okay with the game now. He even joked about it when he got home. I think he was just tired before and overreacted. Looks like I can keep playing after all!

Crazy how some games push boundaries.

Drug dealing sim sounds intense.

Good your dad chilled out.

Most parents just need time to get used to new game ideas.

Man, I’ve played so many games with wild stuff over the years. Drug dealing is pretty tame compared to some of them. As long as you’re not getting ideas to do it for real, it’s all good. Glad your dad came around. Sometimes parents just need a bit to process these things.

Yeah, games with controversial themes can be tricky with parents. Glad your dad came around though! As long as you’re not actually dealing drugs, it’s all good. I’ve played some pretty wild games myself and never had any issues.

Sounds like a unique game concept.

Games often explore edgy themes.

As long as you keep it virtual, no worries.

Cool your dad came around in the end.

Nice that your dad chilled out about it!

Games are just games in the end.

As long as you’re not doing anything illegal IRL, you’re all good.
