Imagine playing a fresh indie scary game back in 2014

Hey gamers! Let’s take a trip down memory lane. Picture this: it’s 2014 and you’ve just downloaded a brand new indie horror game. The graphics are a bit rough but charming, and there’s this eerie atmosphere that’s got you on edge. Remember how exciting it was to dive into these unknown games? What were some of your favorite indie horror titles from that era? I’m feeling nostalgic and would love to hear about your experiences or maybe find some hidden gems I missed back then. Did any of these games leave a lasting impression on you?

Among the Sleep was pretty wild. Playing as a toddler made everything extra scary. The way they mixed childhood fears with actual monsters was clever. Definitely left an impression on me.

Outlast was a game-changer for me in 2014. Running around that asylum with just a camera and no way to fight back? Pure terror. The night vision mechanic added so much to the atmosphere. I remember playing it with friends and we’d all be yelling at the screen. Good times.

Five Nights at Freddy’s was huge that year. Those creepy animatronics and jump scares really set the bar for indie horror. Still gives me chills thinking about it.

Slender: The Eight Pages was such a trip back then. Simple concept but man, it got the heart racing. Turning around to see that faceless dude right there… classic indie horror vibes.

Outlast was intense! Loved how it used the camera.

I really got into Neverending Nightmares that year too. The hand-drawn art style was so creepy and unique.
