Hi there! I’m thinking about getting a Nintendo Switch OLED and I have some questions about Overcooked 2 multiplayer. I want to play with 4 people total but I’m confused about the controller setup. From what I understand, the Switch OLED comes with Joy-Cons that work for 2 players when detached. But what about the other 2 players? Do I need to buy an additional Switch console or can I connect 2 extra controllers like Pro Controllers? I’m not sure how the 4-player local multiplayer actually works on this system. Can someone who owns the game explain the best way to set this up without spending too much money? Any advice would be really helpful!
You could grab extra Joy-Con pairs instead of Pro Controllers - they’re cheaper and work perfectly for Overcooked.
You don’t need Pro Controllers for those extra two players. Mix and match whatever you’ve got - more Joy-Cons, Pro Controllers, or cheap third-party ones all work fine in Overcooked. The controls aren’t demanding, so skip buying four expensive Pro Controllers. I’ve used a random mix of Joy-Cons and whatever controllers were lying around - worked perfectly.
Yeah, you just need two Pro Controllers for the extra players. Split the Joy-Cons and pair up any controllers you have. It’s much cheaper than getting a whole other console and works well.
