Hey everyone, I’m working on this cool medieval skirmish game and I’m trying to make the enemy charges feel more real and intense. Right now, it looks kinda weird because all the enemies move the same way. I know we need to add different running animations, but I’m wondering what else we could do to make it look awesome. Any ideas? Maybe some dust effects or battle cries? I really want players to feel like they’re in the middle of a real medieval battle when the enemies come at them. What do you guys think would make it more immersive? Thanks for any suggestions!
Variety is key for making charges feel real. Mix up the speeds and formations. Have some guys sprint ahead while others hang back. Throw in stragglers or dudes tripping.
Sound is huge too. Battle cries, armor clanking, weapons clashing. That cacophony really sells the chaos.
Maybe add some fear effects? Like enemies hesitating or breaking ranks if things look bad for them. Makes it feel less robotic.
Dynamic formations could make charges look way more realistic. Have some enemies break off to flank or bunch up for shield walls. Tweaking AI to react to terrain and obstacles would be cool too. Makes it less predictable and more tactical.
Sound effects could really amp up the intensity. Add clanking armor, yelling, and thundering footsteps as they charge. Makes it feel way more chaotic and real.
