My friend and I both have Overcooked 2 on Steam, and we’re trying to play together online. We’d like to have two players each using our keyboards, which makes four players in total. However, when we enter online multiplayer, the game prevents us from sharing keyboards. Is there a solution or option we’re missing here? This seems like it should be doable, but we can’t seem to figure it out. Has anyone else found a way to have local co-op in an online game?
Remote Play Together works great for Overcooked 2. I just tested it last week with my roommates.
Remote Play Together is your best option. I’ve used it for loads of couch co-op games when friends can’t come over. Works great with Overcooked, though there’s sometimes a tiny delay based on your internet. Just make sure the host has good upload speed - usually no big deal.
Unfortunately, Overcooked 2 doesn’t allow shared keyboards for online play. You’ll need to find another way to team up.
Steam Remote Play Together is a solid option for this. One person hosts the game and the others join through Steam, letting everyone use their own keyboards.
Yeah, it’s a known issue and pretty annoying. The game treats online and local co-op as completely separate modes. You could try Parsec to stream your screen so you both play on one machine, but expect input lag. Steam’s Remote Play Together might work too - haven’t tested it with Overcooked though.
